    Els extrems de biela consten d'un capçal en forma d'ull amb una tija integral que forma un allotjament per a un coixinet esfèric. S'utilitzen principalment als extrems dels pistons hidràulics o pneumàtics per unir el cilindre a un component associat. El extrem de biela és un coixinet esfèric de lliscament que incorpora un anell interior esfèric amb una precisió i duresa equivalents a les dels coixinets de boles d'acer.
